The Remi Oseni Committee of Friends (ROCOF) has announced plans to reach a membership milestone of 500,000 by the end of 2025, as part of its strategy to galvanize widespread grassroots support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the restoration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to power in Oyo State.

Founder of the movement and federal lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, Hon. Aderemi Oseni, made the disclosure on Sunday during the inaugural general meeting of ROCOF’s Ibarapa East local government chapter, held in Eruwa.

According to Hon. Oseni, more than 200,000 members have already been enrolled across the state’s 33 local government areas, describing ROCOF as an emerging political force rooted in grassroots mobilisation, empowerment, and civic advocacy.

“We are more than just a political support group,” Oseni remarked. “ROCOF is a grassroots-driven movement committed to securing Oyo State for President Tinubu in 2027 and ensuring the APC regains leadership at the Agodi Government House.”

He urged members to intensify their mobilisation efforts at the community level, spreading ROCOF’s six-point agenda “from house to house, street to street, and village to village.”

The six-point agenda, as outlined by the Chairman of the House Committee on the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), includes: securing victory for Tinubu in Oyo, facilitating the APC’s return to power in the state, empowering members, supporting market traders, promoting youth development, and advocating justice for wrongly imprisoned politicians.

Hon. Oseni further encouraged ROCOF members to actively participate in the 2027 general elections by contesting various elective positions, assuring them of the group’s unwavering support and political backing.

“This is a divine mandate,” he emphasized. “We must approach it with unity, urgency, and unwavering commitment to achieving our shared vision for Oyo State and Nigeria.

Tinubu’s Road Revolution Visible Nationwide, Opposition Blind to Progress — FERMA Chair, Oseni

Published

Chairman of the House Committee on the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and representative for Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency in Oyo State, Engineer Aderemi Oseni, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its steadfast commitment to infrastructural development, particularly in the area of road rehabilitation and reconstruction across Nigeria.

Speaking at a media briefing in Lagos on Thursday, Oseni characterized the president’s investment in the nation’s road networks as a strategic initiative aimed at transforming Nigeria’s transportation infrastructure and bolstering economic growth. Drawing from his extensive travels nationwide in his supervisory capacity at FERMA, he attested to the tangible progress achieved under the current administration.

“The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is laying a solid foundation for a redefined Nigeria poised to lead Africa’s future,” Oseni stated. “We have witnessed substantial rehabilitation and reconstruction of federal roads across both the northern and southern regions, including major projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, and the Ibadan-Ilesha-Akure-Benin Highway.”

He further noted that enhanced operational efficiency and increased budgetary allocations have empowered FERMA to effectively tackle Nigeria’s longstanding road infrastructure challenges. “These efforts underscore the administration’s firm belief that an efficient transportation system is the cornerstone of a thriving economy,” he added.

While acknowledging these achievements, Oseni expressed concern that opposition parties have overlooked the progress under President Tinubu’s government. He urged Nigerians to remain vigilant against forces that may seek to undermine these developments. Additionally, he announced the formation of the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends (ROCOF), a non-partisan and non-ethnic platform dedicated to rallying support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

According to Oseni, ROCOF currently boasts over 200,000 members across Oyo State, all committed to advancing good governance, justice, and sustainable development. “Our goal in the South-West region is to achieve a voter turnout of at least 75 percent and to ensure the APC secures no fewer than 10 million votes in the forthcoming presidential election,” he affirmed.

He also highlighted the critical importance of continuous voter registration and civic education, aiming to improve upon the 26.72 percent voter turnout recorded in the 2023 general elections. “Our journey toward 2027 is already underway, and we are resolute in changing the narrative by encouraging citizens to register for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and exercise their civic duties,” Oseni emphasized.

Regarding his political future, Oseni hinted at a potential governorship bid, stating, “I am considering succeeding Governor Seyi Makinde, should it be the will of Almighty God and my party, the APC. However, this is not a do-or-die situation; the governorship race will be approached with dialogue and strategic planning, and I will respect the party’s decision.”

Hon. Aderemi Oseni Denounces Group Urging Folarin, Adelabu to Withdraw from 2027 Governorship Race

…Affirms Respect for Both Leaders, Labels ‘Igba Otun’ as Baseless and Divisive

Member of the House of Representatives representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, Hon. Aderemi Abasi Oseni, has unequivocally disassociated himself from a controversial publication by a group identified as Igba Otun, which called on Senator Teslim Folarin and Chief Adebayo Adelabu to step aside from the 2027 governorship race in Oyo State.

In a statement issued in Ibadan on Wednesday by his media aide, Mr. Idowu Ayodele, Oseni described the report as “false, malicious, and deliberately misleading.” He made it clear that he has no ties with the group in question and did not authorise, support, or commission the message attributed to them.

“Hon. Oseni has absolutely no affiliation with the so-called Igba Otun group,” the statement read. “He neither sanctioned nor supports any publication aimed at sowing discord within the All Progressives Congress (APC). This appears to be the handiwork of political opportunists attempting to destabilise the party and misrepresent his position.”

Highlighting Oseni’s political values, the statement reaffirmed his commitment to issue-based, principled politics. “He is a lawmaker known for integrity, maturity, and respect for party hierarchy. His career has been defined by collaboration, not confrontation,” it said.

It also clarified that Oseni has not declared interest in the 2027 governorship race, contrary to the insinuations made in the publication. “At present, his focus remains firmly on effective legislative representation, constituency development, and contributing meaningfully to the growth and reorganisation of the APC in Oyo State,” the aide stated.

Reiterating Oseni’s respect for the party’s leadership, the statement described Senator Folarin as “an elder brother, mentor, and leader,” while Chief Adelabu was referred to as “a younger brother and trusted ally.” Oseni, it said, values both relationships and would never endorse actions that undermine their political aspirations or personal integrity.

The statement also questioned the motive behind the publication, especially in the wake of the APC’s recent by-election defeat. “The timing is suspicious and suggests a deliberate attempt to create further instability within the party. It is unfortunate that some individuals would exploit sensitive moments to promote selfish agendas,” the statement noted.

Calling Igba Otun a “faceless and mischievous outfit,” Oseni’s team urged APC members and the public at large to ignore the group’s claims, which they described as “a calculated ploy to spread confusion and fabricate divisions that do not exist.”
