It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that I mourn the passing of our dearly beloved royal father, His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland. Just a few days ago, we gathered in celebration of his birthday, a life filled with grace, wisdom, and a reign that radiated peace, dignity, and progress across Ibadanland and beyond.
It was a moment to honour his rich legacy, never knowing it would be our final earthly tribute to his noble soul. Kabiyesi was not just a traditional ruler, he was a moral compass, a guardian of our heritage, and a stabilizing force in the land. His presence commanded respect, and his leadership fostered unity, growth, and cultural pride.
As a son of the land and a servant of the people, I am personally pained by this loss. His wise counsel and fatherly blessings will be deeply missed. The void left behind cannot be filled, but his legacy will endure.
May Almighty God grant him eternal rest and strengthen the royal family, the Olubadan-in-Council, and the good people of Ibadanland in this trying time.
