Rep Oseni Expresses Sympathy for Aleshinloye Market Fire Victims, Urges Government Assistance

Engr. Aderemi Oseni, Chairman of the House Committee on the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and representative for the Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency in Oyo State, has expressed his sympathy for the traders affected by the recent fire at Aleshinloye Market in Ibadan.

The fire, which broke out in the early hours of Wednesday, ravaged parts of the busy market, destroying goods worth millions of naira. While the cause of the fire remains unclear, the scale of the devastation has garnered widespread sympathy from political leaders, business figures, and the public.

In a statement released by his media personnel, Akinmuyiwa Williams, in Ibadan, Oseni described the incident as a tragic blow to the hardworking traders who depend on the market for their livelihoods. He called on government agencies at all levels to take swift action and assist the victims in restoring their businesses.

“I stand with the traders and entrepreneurs of Aleshinloye Market during this challenging time. This disaster highlights the urgent need for stronger fire safety measures in our markets. I urge both the Oyo State Government and federal agencies to provide immediate relief and long-term solutions to aid those affected,” he stated.

Oseni also underscored the need for proactive disaster management, advocating for the installation of modern fire prevention infrastructure in key markets throughout the state. He further called on individuals, corporate organizations, and relevant authorities to extend support to the affected traders.

The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for policies that protect small business owners from unexpected disasters, emphasizing the importance of a collective approach to safeguarding the economic well-being of traders and artisans.
